Nasya meets Mister Maker

We do not subscribe Astro. Which I think is a good decision, since we are Internet Users more than TV users. So when we subscribe Unifi, we use their HyppTV channel as main tv stations. I love their kids channel because of cbeebies and Nick Jr. Nasya learns a lot from Cbeebies.

Mister Maker is one of her favourite. So when she realized that Mister Maker is coming to town, she was so excited looking forward to the day, so did I. Event was at Bangsar Village and we were late. We went to the Immigration Office for our passport renewals, and it took almost all of our day :S

Anyways...the show was good, even though it was short, but packed and she enjoyed it so much. Can see from her glowing face when first seeing Mister Maker in front of her!

We took photo at the poster around the concourse area while waiting for the last session.

With her top favourite show from Cbeebies, Charlie and Lola!
Nasya wearing Leelo Kids Jasmine Pants and Old Navy Rapunzel Tshirt. Speaking of East meets West. :)

There was coloring session as well in between the break, the best 10-entries got a goodie bag.

Mister Maker and the emcee which was so good in entertaining

Nasya at the end of the show, she got the front stage seat, which was awesome, and kept saying, "Mister Maker looked at me when he was so silly saying very very very very 100 times.."

This is the clip that my husband took :

When we reached home, she said, "You know mom, today is so great" Dont you guys think Mister Maker's job is so cool? He entertains and shares his craft ideas to kids that adore him and travels around the world!

Thanks Mister Maker for coming to Malaysia! Ok HyppTV, can you bring Charlie and Lola next? :p

Adapting to a new life

Now, I sleep early. That is my only ME time before it starts again at 6am next morning. But I am surprised that I am happy even though my connection is SO BAD in the office, I managed to live without my FB, twitter and blog for a while. Speaking of connection, I need to go to change to the new provider this weekend.

Anyways, the new job requires me to work long hours, but the portfolio Im having is so interesting that in between readings *the documentations and such* I have lots of ideas flowing in. Long hours but still balance, but you know when you have to deal with a I-cant-sleep kid at nite and I-am-sleepy kid in the morning, it really testing my patients. Last time we used to just carry her and let the nursery do everything, now, it is different. Yeah. God is testing us, managing time, business, personal things at one go.

Husband is really helping, when I have a teleconference late evening, he will rush pick up Nasya so that I can focus on my work. Alhamdulillah. Food is always ready at home. I made a home cooked food every Sunday and frozen it. So some of them will be pack for Nasya to her kindy, since she said, she still hungry and some of them for dinner and some of them is for me. Can you imagined how many I cook every Sunday? You cannot even imagine. Macam kenduri! From soups to asam pedas to masak kurma to sambal. Phew....

Business wise, I will come with a new products, complementing the hats, in December. Hopefully, all is well, running smoothly. Now Im still configuring, how, when, who, all are jumbling in my mind. Sometimes Im thinking of hiring a FB/Twitter admin just to help me tweet and update my FB status, and at the same time, helping me running to the post office to post orders since I go to office early and didnt use that post office route. See, things super micro like that, but really gives impact, big impact to this small business actually.

I've read some of the emails, really and some still unread. Forgive me ok? and I will make sure reading all of them, and reply them one by one. Sometimes, I feel like, and I know, Allah shows me this way, to lead me to another way, and to bring out my best to benefit others.

Now, lets sleep and dream where can I find that extra time??

AND.....

Dont forget, do come to the EC : Everyone Connects:

Layout for Crafty Market this Saturday @JayaOne

Morning!

Here are the layout for this coming Crafty. I, as usual will share a booth with Tini from SnazzynSuch. Lucky we got a table at the corner, which is next to the lift! So we can accommodate our rails and hopefully it is not raining!

Our booth is at number 14, and at the G/B1 floor. Hints & tips. Find 7E and Nandos. We are behind 7E & Nandos. If you're going to park at the first level of the basement you enter, just go thru the lift near the Surau, you can see all of us, the crafty people :D

This is one of the Rorry hats for Crafty Market. My personal favourite... :)

Oh yes, there will be Batu Seremban sets too! Come get it and the $ goes to charity. :)

See you there!

Art For Grabs - Annexe, CM.

Saturday was fun. Im looking forward for more (this kind) of Saturdays more in the future.

I marked in my calendar a month before that I must go to the Art For Grabs (AFG) in Central Market. So there we went, after an open house by a new neighbour, we went there by car. Tho we promised Nasya we were going there by train, we just had to change the plan since we were rushing to go to another open house that nite.

The crowd was walllahh! But when spoke to few sellers who were also Crafty Sellers, they said, there should be more. Like what?? Maybe due to many open houses that weekend. The roads to Central Market were also so clear! No traffic at all.

At one corner, Nasya stucked and couldnt move. She was so attracted to one crochet doll. I didnt expect that she wanted it because we bought her a new Hello Kitty toy set a day before. But can you see the look at her face, keep staring at the doll.

She even asked her dad whether she can have it. So the seller giving a discount for that doll before we asked it. Thanks! And I was aiming for this doll, but I didnt buy it :( Now I keep thinking about it! Best thing is, each doll has a different characteristics and stories behind. So unique!

Nasya's doll! Good thing is Nasya treasures all the toys. Even tho she's so lazy to put back things at their own place, but she plays with the toys well. Thats the reason we love to buy her toys. Same goes to books.

Some cute things around Annexe. We wandered around CM for one hour before we hopped the LRT to KL Sentral since Nasya kept saying "I wanna ride a train" for thousands time. Grabbed an ice cream there and went back to CM to get our car and then went home.

Packed but happy Saturday!

Crafty Market - 20 August 2011

One day to crafty market, are you ready?

This will be the 2nd time Crafty joining the other two markets, Chic Pop & Bettr Weekends. So, we have been informed our booth locations earlier. Thanks to Michelle who has been the best person in charged so far...

Location, the same, JayaOne PJ. How to go there? Maybe can refer this map.
Time, 11am-6pm,
Day, Saturday ONLY.

Im quite confused with the allocation actually, but all I know is, we, crafty team, allocated at the G/B1 floor. According to my husband, it shows here we are near the Surau...The Surau is somewhere near the elevator...

And do click larger to view where my booth is. All I can see is behind me, is the water feature..or if you already there, just find booth that are selling hats! :D

Maybe you wanted to walk around to see other booths there... Of course you have to, coz this kind of market, is not a every week event, so we, the crafty team, work our ass off to make new things (I usually do) for our customers to come and see and feel.

Block your calendar tomorrow, drop by and say HI!!!

*work work work :p*

Okinokiyo on Wanita Hari Ini TV3

Jezmine tweeted me one day asking for my phone number. I asked her back for what, and she said for WHI. She is so kind for recommended me to someone she knows in TV3. But I got no calls that day. Further more, I hope for no calls that day due to banging and drilling done by the contractor next door. My neighbour was renovating the house. So, the noise is somehow killing you.

On Friday, I got a call. I thought a customer from mybirthday, but its from Lina. She introduced herself as Lina, from Wanita Hari Ini, TV3. She was kind, it can easily be heard from her lively voice over the phone, asking if I want to be featured the following Tuesday, I said yes after thinking that I still havent got any appointment next week. And then told my husband to take leave. Hahaha. Because somebody needed to babysit the hyper Nasya.

Came Tuesday, we arrived quite early, parking was easy, everything was easy but my tummy was not. I was panic actually. Lucky that Kak Milie called me days earlier giving me tips on how to control yourself, and look good on TV, such as - smile a lot, dont talk too fast, dont talk too slow, and because we do handmade things, we have to tell & show people what is our products within that 8 minutes time. So, how to tell them short & simple & in that 8 minutes time? Give a call to Kak Milie. She's my sifoo. :D

I got touched up, and still thinking that time whether Nasya should be in. Then my husband said no need coz she's not staying still. So ok, she will stay in the waiting room haha.

The twitter friends made me nervous, they tweet and spread about it and some of them asking what time, etc etc then I decided to switch off my phone :p

It was fun and interesting to see the hosts practicing their lines before show started. Showing how committed they are even though they are pro already. Meaning that, how pro you are in your field, practise is still needed yeah?

We (my husband & I) set the stuff early and I brought all the hats & crowns that day. I was demo-ing the crowns because I might need a sewing machine if I do hats.

This was how Nasya killing her time. :)

I looked fat on TV :S but in real life, Im fat too, so hmmm...

Nora Danish was there talking about her Ana Lulu' tv series which I like, and she was so soft spoken, and tall, and fair, and slim and....

Thanks Lina & TV3 for inviting me! Business was good after that and hoping the momentum stays still..

Ameen.

Urbanscapes 2011 - Finally its over

Thank god finally its over! Urbanscapes I mean. We reached there around 9.40 and quickly unload our stuff.

Early morning was a bit windy with little bits of drizzles but after noon was so HOT HOT HOT I cant even open my eyes. I shared a booth with Tini of Snazzy & Such and we had a great time together. Paul was there too *untuk memeriahkan majlis* Love when he was around actually! I made headbands, zipper bags, hats and little knick knacks, Tini made canvas bags where you can custom it on the spot. I dunno why I didnt buy one from her coz I know I just need lots of bags!

Next to us was absoluteEmmy's stalls and next to her was 8tv quickie booth! OMG so happening where the 8team running chasing ppl distributing phamplets like mad. Later around noon - 2pm, Henry Golding was there, and crowd so big in front of their booth! And the showdown winner, who ah? I didnt watch, did some dance in front of it. They also thought the 8tv quickie hosts how to dance...step by step. Hillarious!

Crowd was A LOT, we were thristy, and I was hungry and sleepy. We didnt get enough sleep. Tini didnt sleep at all the nite before. I was sleepy coz I need my dose of caffeine and didnt know which stalls sell coffee. But I had 2 time The Last Polka Ice cream - Horlicks & Salted Gula Melaka, had a taste of Paul's Kaffir Lime Coconut ice cream, The Last Slice cookie, which is so big & delish and the famous macarons.

Paul managed to get Reza Salleh cd, his signature and picture, watched he performed. I was planning to watch Lab The Rat but forgot until I heard they sang their last lyrics when I was looking for cold drinks at 6!

I managed to walk and have a peek at few other booths - Mimpi Murni, Button my Buttons, and Old Blossom Box and not missing my favourites - Love and Craft, Kindersoaps and Angelicquirk.

All in all we had much fun, selling and walking & people watching!

That was the nite when my daughter was allowed to sleep so late, at midnite!

Urbanscapes mode

Okinokiyo, will officially launch the adult's range of hats this Saturday. Part of me says ok, no biggie, and another part of me is shivering and hiding behind a BIG rock. Because the moment I took the picture, I have only 15 hats. with 4 designs & cuttings.

After Tini, my partner in the Urbanscapes said, I should do more, supporting my husband nags few days back, last nite I cut more fabric, linen & corduroys to make another 5. So yeah, there will be 20 hats with 4 different designs. Im happy.

Since its the official day for the adult's hats launching, Im selling all the hats at 20% discount. Any custom made after Urbanscapes day, you will not get this price. Its one and totally one and only piece. And only 20 pieces, please grab this chance. And best of all, I dont have the same fabric anymore. So, its totally, unique and only you will that particular hat.

Apart from hats, Im coming out with this lovely little brooches. And there will be scrunchies, headband, and some other little things :D

So tell me, who's coming? You shouldn't miss it since its an annually event, I saw many other booths that are selling amazing things. If you have nothing to do yet this Saturday, do drop by. You can get the tickets early, so buy NOW.

See you there!

Urbanscapes fever

I think Im gonna die. I cannot read the @urbanscapes tweets or I will die earlier. I dont want to know how many days left for the Urbanscapes coz we dont have the time.

Its about plus minus 2 weeks time between Markets & Urbanscapes and I need to come out with new things. But of course I have back ups. Back ups of what should I sell if I cannot make much hats. Its a gamble actually, but its a thing that have been postponed for quite sometime. And past 2-3 days, I managed to make 8 hats, which 3 of them have gone to the bin.

The 2nd nite, after 3 hats went to the bin

Some other things that will be there is the zipper bags. Multipurpose zipper bags - I have 2 myself in my handbag, my husband has 2 as well- he put all the medications/supplements *he brings whenever he was out of town* and he always buy the zipper bags from me, as a gift for his colleague.

But still I managed to homeschool my daughter in between this busy schedule. This time around she writes. Capital & small letters. Hmmm..how eh?

The Bb Cc Dd in the 2nd row were my writings

And after Urbanscapes, I got 1 month to prepare for Markets in August. Die!

Lets complete some orders tonite!

Markets June 2011 @JayaOne,PJ

Markets JayaOne went well. Despite of tired keep on standing for few hours, it was fun. I met lots of return customers, new customers and big customers (read : not mothers but adult!), celebrities and top bloggers!

Crowd was so BIG around 2pm onwards and I started sweating like hell. Nasya and her dad left around 11 and left me alone tending the booth.

As usual, I brought HATS (the main item) and lots of crowns this time around. Few baju kurung that I want to clear off, skirts and ruffles pants. Ira as usual contribute her chalk mats, and this time around, Yam put her booties at my booth. Syap, my Uni mate made cupcakes and brownies and sample macarons but she came around noon like that. So to those coming in the morning, you might missed that yummy food! Sorry...

Tweeting live to give some updates to the rest of the world who missed the event. Follow me at :twitter.com/OkinokiyoShop

Super early, after setting up.

A returned customer showing their hats - bought from me before in the previous market. I remember them! And they bought the new one, a newsboy hat with Matroshykan print. That print somehow is hard to find and lucky them to have it.

Then, there were 2 ladies came, asking if they can take Nasya's photo for a newspaper, which I forgot to ask which paper. And that little girl suddenly didnt know how to smile. She almost cried! LOL

When I was busy entertaining customers, somebody felt neglected and sat across the booth. Sad :p

A princess came over too! Pretty dress she wore right?

And her sister! Behind is Cyres and her dad!

Overall it was a fun event. What I love most is I got to meet my customers on that day. Even tho I have hard time to remember names, but I do remember who buy what. Thanks to those who came, talked, chatted and bought things from me. Really appreciate it! Dont forget to claim 10% disc from your next purchase yeah?

And there will be next Markets on 20th August. Guess what Im bringing? Limited edition baju kurung - one piece, one design.

So, do come (even tho its fasting month!)
