First because I don't have any experience using serger. And second because the thread is so thin and soft and easily break. It was so frustrated.
Why I blog about this is because I was in the mood and was happily sewing when it goes wrong at the end of the sewing process. Now I need to learn why it didn't go well as usual or the easiest way to send it to the shop to service it. And hopefully can use it by weekend.
Arghh so frustrating..

you are right, your machine is exactly the same as mine.
i had a few problem gak dulu, even after hantar service pun elok sekejap jer.
i think you need to get to "know" the machine. make sure you use the right needle, its pretty hard to get, sebab dia model lama, even some singer shop pun tak de stock.but i found one small shop kat subang jual needle tu, a box of 10 needles cost me a whopping rm25, tapi its a good needle, tahan lama.
check the tension,the cutter and and the pressure for the footer. kalau u ikut jer cara nak thread the machine, insyaallah ok
masa you dpt mesin tu, is it still working ker, kalau tak, hantar jelah for service
you will love it biler you dah boleh guna mesin tu, you can even sew knitted fabric/jersey, ( tapi kena straight stitch jugak lah guna mesin biasa lepas tu)
tak semestinya guna benang jahit tepi, guna benang biasa lagi best, boleh buat colour2 =D

hang in there.. u can do it!! i lost my singer featherweight II instruction cd.. so sad also bcoz i can only use the basic features altho sewing machine ni bole buat mcm2 sebenarnya :(
unaisah : aihh geram betul bila tak dpt the rentak tu lgi..i asyik nagging2 kat machine.hahaha pdhal dah nak siap dah..
masa memula i dpt the machine, it can work la but then i kene adjust2 the tension tu, and penuh habuk habuk dlm tu..and the singer man kat my in law hometown advise i pegi service. tpi lepas try, rasa mcm ok jek..so i xservice, only that, kdg2 dia buat la hal dia..
i think will use normal benang la instead benang jahit tepi ni sbb sangat la mencabar betul...dahla besar satu hal.haha
mmg nekad la balik keje ni pegi hantar servis...hehe

eee... mai i jealous la u terror menjahit, i teringin nak belajar tapi takde passion plus got no time. hahaahah alasan ke tu....
i have 2 serger machines at home. satu heavy duty..
lagi satu model macam ni kot rase nya.. dah ada since i baby lagi :)
memang mula-mula takut nak guna, especially yg heavy duty tu.. laju je gerak, takut terpotong kain! haha *panik*
dekat Kota Bharu ada satu kedai ni jual benang jahit tepi, macam-macam warna! suka sangat :p for me la.. i prefer benang jahit tepi sebab halus dan lembut. so, finishing nya lebih 'fine'^^
