What I've been sewing last week...











My husband reset my phone last week coz it kept restarting on its own and its killing me. So not sure where he backup data. Must be in my machine but I just dont have the time to check.
Orders is coming in sooo good i almost cry. Despite delay response, im still getting orders and guess what new fabric is coming in too!
Im experimenting with linen this time around and 2 new hats are coming and making appearance by next week! Yayyy finally.
Another 2 good news will be shared when the time is right 😘.

Wedding Preparations

Im such a cheater...My sister is getting married in 2 days and here I am, still in KL, and typing this post. All I did is making two flower girl dresses and the zipper bags..

Pattern by Olablehe and using white natural cotton, lined with peach lining and peach sash. And no, Im not taking orders for dress. This is only for my daughter and niece.

Zipper bags are for families & relatives.. hope they like them. And yes, Im opening orders for the zipper bags :)

...I still need to make the girls matching headband tho...

This week

This week can be said a bit hectic, but then, I managed to squeeze sometime to sew something for my daughter. She hardly has new dress (for home). Since Im officially an Instagram addict, I want to snap pictures as much as possible because editing is fun! I managed to buy Snapseed apps when it went free last week. Yayyy, the normal price is $4.99.

Anyways, I made a dress using a batik sarong, bought in Bandung 3 years back. Love the colors, not a usual floral batik prints and suitable for anything you want to sew. Batik sarong, is a good deal since its big, almost 3 yards I think and I could make 2 dresses out of it, and still got remaining, which, I can make few bags I think.

Last nite, I made one order for Nurul. Nurul was a walk in customer in last Crafty Market, and one of the order is this hat, for a friend's son. Happy birthday little boy!

This is the 3rd dress I made for Nasya this week. The fabric was bought last 2 years for Nasya's baju kurung and suddenly it turns out to be a dress. :D

And last but not least, this is a DIY skirt. I posted this in the FB yesterday. Using a natural cotton, I sew, dye, draw and let Nasya color it. Em, she did add few drawings of her and a cousin by the slide. I might say that this is a one of a kind skirt, because, another person can hardly make the same skirt as this. You can try this too at home.

Coloring and drawing done using a fabric pen & crayon. Fabric pen can be bought at Art Friend, The Gardens. The fabric crayon can be found in Popular. There are also Fabric Markers by Crayola I saw at Toys R Us.

I slot some personal sewing for my lil one's Hari raya clothing..A line skirt, fabric from Sue MyBotang. Since its only half yard and big prints, I just make a classic A line Skirt for Nasya. She loves it and cried when I said to sell it.. ;p

Handmade from Skulls Fabric

Yesterday I went out for some personal matters and went to meet some customers to pass their stuff. One of them is Yanz who gave me her fabric - skulls printed to make some dress, pants and hats for her kids.

Yanz works in Cyberjaya and made me miss my working moments there, but only for the 2340 building. Not the other building tho :p

Anyways, that same nite, which was yesterday's nite, she twitpic these pic and the last pic was emailed this morning... :)

Lots of them

....Sunhats, dresses and PILLOWS!

All of sudden, I got lots of pillow cases and pillows orders. Too bad that I didnt take much picture of them. You know why? Coz, I usually finished sewing very late at nite, and then, I straight away pack the orders so that my PosLaju Man will pick up the packages around 9-10am. The early morning is my time to fill in all the Poslaju forms and whatnot..so usually I only remember that I didnt take the photos after all the packages are sealed :S

Custom order with customer's own fabric. This one, I will make one special entry for this. Coz she ordered few items..And Im enjoying every single seconds making it. Both fabric are so arghhh yummy! Love the skulls!!!


But, you know, I managed to escape recent weekend to my hometown, and I thought I can use this vintage machine. I managed fix it, but the stitch quality is not up to my standard. I guess, its the thread. An old one, so next time, I shall bring all my threads.. :)


Emm, what else, I should go to bed now, and prepare some of the orders that need to be posted tomorrow...Till then, bye :)

Inspiring Saturday

I woke up on Saturday morning and decided to make something for my lil one. This has been postponed for so many times so I think I should not delay it anymore. Since her birthday is getting closer, I want to shower her with my handmade stuffs.

First in my list is the Tshirt dress. I did this once. She has this one pink tshirt which I think she wore it once only because I keep forgotten she has that. A day earlier, she was asking if she could have a same pink whale dress as the one I made for a customer. I said yes, so, there was it, tshirt dress!


In half and hour, it was done. Supposed I can finish it earlier, but I calculate the width wrongly so I had to cut another piece :p *talking about over confidence* This is the tutorial.

She wore it on the same day!


And then after finishing the tshirt dress, I thought of making a baby pouch for her. She loves pretend play. And every single day, I need to tie her napkin around her to make the pouch. Then I was browsing the net and found this tutorial and decided, ok, lets make it!

She loves it! And another on still in progress is her picnic blanket. Arghh that one is super tiring. I dont understand how some quilters can do that. I salute their patience. Really.

Then late Saturday nite, I was cleaning up my fabric stash, I have this idea to make her this skirt! It was verrrrry late. I finished it at 3am I think. And I named it Little Helper Skirt. I like it so much because of the colors. I love contrast colors nowadays so as usual, she will be the guinea pig! Simple and easy to move around skirt, and yet really fun. This skirt will be in the Etsy Crafty Market this 19th Feb!


That is how we celebrated CNY here.. Sit at home, sewing and cleaning up and end of the day, we treat ourselves some sugar :D *Nasya was wearing her past 2 yo cheongsam*

Nasya busy days with mommy handmade outfit

I was on my 3 days out of the house to find some stuff and to restock my supplies. So, whenever I go, I drag this little towkay along since she doesnt want to go to playschool.

First day - Nasya with the Matroshyka doll printed dress.
Went to get Iphone4 for my husband. Its his birthday :) So I snap this picture using his Iphone while Nasya played with my Iphone; at Machine store. I got myself a Nike Ipod thingy where I can slot it in my shoe when running. So, that device linked with the Iphone and record the history of my workout. Pretty cool because I know how much calories I burned.


Second day - Nasya in the knot dress for recently Eid.
We went to the stationery shop and she went crazy wanted to buy the unnecessary.


Third day - Nasya in a vintage paperdoll printed skirt with Mothercare sleeveless top.
I went to see a sifoo for advices and tips for the coming fashion show since I have no experience at all and grab this cute little headband for her from the shop. Lucky she was on her nap and I could talk for one hour with no interruption :p. She's one happy bunny because she said, she looked like Minnie, with the skirt and bow headband.


So thats what Nasya wore on the 3 busy days outing with me. We are so tired and sleep very early those nights and today, Im work as usual from HOME. Happy!

What Nasya wears - Hot pink dress

I was looking for some other fabric I store long time ago in the storage when I saw THIS fabric. So, since its HOT PINK, why not I make a dress for her. Lucky her, no?

You have to bear with me because most of the pictures I took are when we are in the elevator hehehe, hence the overexposed light.

So guess what is this HOT PINK fabric? Its a poly cotton, I got, or should I said, my husband got from one of kenduri we went.

Its a HOT PINK KAIN PELEKAT aka SARONG!!

Do you think my husband want to wear it? No he wont. Because its too pink! We got it 2 years ago when I dont know how to sew and I was so naive. I was thinking to give away this kain to somebody else but now when I found this fabric back, I quickly take it and cut it out. Hehehe. And she claimed that hers because of the color, obviously.

But its not bad at all. I like plaids as much as I like polka dots. And thank god the fabric is big. I have some ideas to make with the left overs. I think I still have one meter of the fabric to do some new projects.

I use Robert Kaufman's purple batik fabric to make the sleeves. She wears this dress to follow me to the post office to post some orders. Since daddy is not around, I usually take some time together outside with her. She actually demanded to go to the indoor playground but I am so occupied so we settled for some new books and doughnut.

Big bow dress (NOT)

I made this dress months before raya, I cant remember when actually. But I think it is too simple. It is a A line dress. So I didnt put it on Nasya yet because I think I want to put something to embellish it.

So day before yesterday, I make a big bow to put at the chest. It is a removable bow.

However, this little girl didnt like the bow, and I need to take it out. And she live happily ever after. So do you know who rules the Okinokiyo's world? :p

Eid dresses

This is one of the dresses I made for this little lady. This is when we stop at the MacDonald Air Keroh Melaka for lunch since most restaurants are still close.

It is a knot dress. A simple dress that I think she loves so much because it is airy and has big skirt.
